How to Make Monogrammed Favors
A monogram is simply the initials of a person or a couple. You can add an edible frosting monogram to a party favor treat by preparing a batch of theme-shaped sugar cookies and writing the initials with royal icing. Use birthday hat- or present-shaped cookie cutters for a birthday party; wedding dresses and flowers for a wedding event; or diaper shirts and baby bottles for a baby shower. Bake the cookies on wooden sticks and gather two or three monogrammed cookies in a bunch to make a cookie bouquet for each guest to enjoy after the event.

1
Mix a store-bought sugar cookie dough in a medium-size mixing bowl. Place the dough on plastic wrap, seal it up and put the dough in the refrigerator for about 60 to 75 minutes.
-
2
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, until the dough is about a quarter inch thick. Use themed cookie cutters to cut shapes from the dough.

-
3
Use a spatula to move the cookies to a cookie sheet, slide a wooden skewer or heat-resistant craft stick into each cookie and bake according to the dough's instructions. Cool the shaped cookies to room temperature.
-
4
Put a round icing tip in a pastry bag. Fill the bag about two-thirds full with royal icing. Write the monogram onto each cookie by hand or use stencils to help create a professional-looking monogram.
-
5
Outline the outer edges of each cookie with the extra royal icing. Let the icing dry for 30 minutes.
-
6
Cover each cookie with a square of cellophane and tie a ribbon beneath the cookie. Gather two or three cookies together and tie a ribbon around the bunch to complete the favor.
