Advertise a lawn mowing service with fliers made in Paint.

Whether your lawn service business consists of one mower and yourself or an entire team of grass cutters, getting the word out in the community starts by letting potential customers know you're available. Use Windows Paint, a basic graphics program found in the "Accessories" folder of all Windows operating systems, to draft up a lawn mowing service flier. Fliers let you inform people of your business quickly and simply, so they'll be ready to enlist you over to where the grass is always greener.

Instructions

    • 1

Start Windows Paint. Click the "Paint" button. Click "Open." Navigate to a photograph of a lawn mower, a freshly cut lawn or someone cutting the grass. Double-click the picture. When it opens on the Paint canvas, click the "Select" button's drop-down arrow on the ribbon. Choose "Select all." When the blue lines surround the picture, click the "Copy" button on the ribbon.

    • 2

Click the "Paint" button and select "New." If Paint asks to save the photograph, click "No." Click the "Paint" button and select "Properties." Enter "8.5" into the "Width" box and "11" into the "Height" box. Click the "Inches" radio button. Click the "OK" button.

    • 3

Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys on the keyboard to paste in the copied lawn mowing picture. Drag it into place with the cursor, such as in the middle of the flier page.

    • 4

Choose a color for the flier headline from the "Colors" boxes on the ribbon. Click the "A" icon in the "Tools" part of the ribbon and click the top of the flier. Choose a font and large text size.

    • 5

Type "Lawn Mowing Available," "Lawn Mowing Package Discounts," "Grass Cutting Spots Open" or a related title.

    • 6

Click below the flier. Change the text appearance color, font or size if desired. Type additional information such as your territory range, styles of grass cutting such as diamond or mulching extras, hours of work, types of payments accepted, fees and how to reach you to book appointments.

    • 7

Choose a paint color you haven't used for the text colors, such as a light shade. Click the paint bucket icon in the "Tools" section and click anywhere in the white portion of the Paint flier to give it a background color. Skip this step if you will be printing on colored paper.

    • 8

Click the "Paint" button and select "Save As." Give the flier a name and select a place to save it on the computer. Click the "Save" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • You don't have to import a photograph or picture for the lawn mowing service -- some fliers are made entirely of just information. In this case, skip the first steps on opening the photograph and join up with the instructions on setting the properties on a new Paint canvas.
