How to Set Up a Corporation LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn is the leading free professional networking service on the Web. Anyone can create a personal profile to promote themselves and their work, and anyone with a personal profile can set up a corporate profile for the company she officially represents. A company profile provides publicly accessible information online about a group, and other LinkedIn users can follow its activity or identify themselves as employees or associates.

      Log in to linkedin.com, using your personal profile username and password.

      Click "Companies," then click "Add a Company."

      Enter the name of the company and your company email address in the boxes indicated. Click "Continue."

      Log in to your company email account, and click the verification link provided in the email LinkedIn sent you.

      Click "Confirm" to verify the address, and log in to LinkedIn again, if prompted.

      Select the company type, size, industry and status from the drop-down menus, and add your company's website URL in the box indicated.

      Type a description of your corporation in the box indicated, and provide optional information such as company specifics and Twitter account ID if you wish.
