How to Highlight PDFs

PDF files can be edited in the Adobe Acrobat program. Adobe Acrobat is the standard edition of the Adobe PDF applications that includes a variety of features not found in Acrobat Reader, including the underline and cross-out editing tools. Once an item is highlighted in the PDF document, the editing marks remain in the document until they are manually removed or the PDF is closed without being saved.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click the PDF on your computer to automatically launch Adobe Acrobat. If Adobe Acrobat is not the default program, right-click the PDF, click "Open with" and then click "Adobe Acrobat."

    • 2

Open the Tools menu and click "Comment & Markups" in the drop-down menu.

    • 3
