How to Place an Ad in Inventory

Take your ads from the classifieds to the Internet.

Advertising on the Internet can open up a number of possibilities for you or your company, but the question is: how do you get websites to pick up your ads? One way to do this is to create an ad on an advertisement catalog website. These websites let you create your ad, choose the sites where it can appear and categorize it. This will allow websites who have open space in their ad inventories (the number of page views that a site has available for advertising, usually figured by the month) to find, and pick up, your ad.

Instructions

1. Type the Web address of your search engine of choice into the Web address bar of your Internet browser.

2. Press "Enter" to go to your search engine.

3. Type "web page advertising directories" and press "Enter" to run this search.

4. Select a website to which you will submit your advertisement.

5. Create your ad using the directory's registration form. This will require your website's Web address (URL), its name, a brief description, some key words. You may also be asked to categorize your website and to choose websites on which you want to advertise.

6. Click on the "Submit" or "Okay" button or link that will usually be at the bottom of the registration form.

Tips & Warnings

• Be clear and brief when writing your keywords. Also consider writing one keyword for each major page of your website.
