How to Broadcast iTunes on Vent
Vent is a common name for the popular voice-over IP program, ventrilo. Ventrilo is especially popular with online gamers, who use it to communicate with other players on the same team. Many games provide in-game communications, but players often prefer third-party applications like ventrilo. There are a couple different ways to broadcast sound through ventrilo, though the sound quality varies, depending on what method you use.
Instructions

Microphone and Speakers
-
1
Open ventrilo and connect to the server from where you want to broadcast iTunes music. Join the appropriate channel in the ventrilo server.
-
2
Open iTunes and start playing the song you wish to broadcast on ventrilo.
-
-
3
Hold down whatever key you set to turn on speech broadcasting with ventrilo. Hold the microphone up to the speakers, and the sound from iTunes is broadcast through the microphone and out to everyone else in the ventrilo server. The voice-over IP technology is intended for voice communication, and does a poor job of transmitting music, but other people in the server can hear whatever is playing on iTunes.
Ventrilo Settings
-
4
Open Ventrilo. Click on "Setup."
-
5
Click on the drop down menu beside "Line" and select "Stereo Mix" from the options.
-
6
Click "OK" to save the settings. Open iTunes and begin playing whatever you want to broadcast over Ventrilo. Now, whenever you hold down the talk key, you broadcast whatever is playing through your speakers or headphones, to the other people in ventrilo. Because this does not use speakers and microphones, the sound quality is better for those listening.
