How to Make a Paper Drumstick
Children enjoy making drums out of large coffee cans, oatmeal cylinders and other similar shapes. After making the drums, most kids are left to beat on the tops with their hands. Another quick step in the drum craft project gives the children homemade paper drumsticks to use on the drums. Using brightly colored paper adds a festive touch to making paper drumsticks for musical playtime. This paper drumstick craft adds the finishing touch to homemade toy drums.

1
Fold the tops of two sheets of construction paper down 1 inch. Use two sheets of the same color for making paper drumsticks.
-
2
Roll each of the sheets of paper around a pencil just below the folds. Tape the seams of the homemade paper drumsticks to keep them from unrolling.
-
-
3
Twist the folded ends between your fingers and shape them into beads at the tops of the sticks.
-
4
Remove the pencils by letting them fall out the bottoms to use the paper drumstick craft without extra support. Leave the pencils inside the sticks and tape the bottoms for firm sticks to beat on the tops of drums.
