How to Not Make My Makeup Run on Oily Eyelids
Creating a makeup look that stays put all day can seem challenging, especially when you have oily eyelids. The oil your skin naturally produces can cause eye makeup to run and slide, leaving you with smudged eyeliner and creased eye shadow or with eye makeup that vanishes completely. Reducing excess oil buildup and using the proper makeup techniques can prevent a makeup disaster. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Avoid using creamy products, such as liquid or gel concealer, foundation, eyeliner and eye shadow on your eyelids. Creamy products increase the chance that your makeup will run.
-
2
Start with completely dry skin on your eyelids. Dry your face thoroughly before applying eye makeup as moisture prevents your eye makeup from setting.
-
-
3
Apply a makeup primer to your eyelids. Primer creates a smooth surface, helping your eye makeup last longer.
-
4
Brush your eyeshadow and eyeliner on in a series of thin layers until you achieve the desired color saturation. Applying your eye makeup in one thick layer can cause it to cake, making it run more easily.
-
5
Set your eye makeup with translucent powder. This helps keep moisture out and keep your makeup in place.
