How to Make a Card Float With a Magic Trick
Though many magicians' tricks require expensive materials and countless hours of practice, other tricks are quite simple. One easy magic trick is making a card float. A few cards are spread on a table, and when the magician lifts his hand, they appear to float. This trick can be mastered by anyone with a few cards and a few minutes to practice.

Place the ring on the middle finger of either your right or left hand. Slide the match under the ring on the palm side of your hand. The match should be centered so that both sides stick out from the ring.

With your palm facing down, place your hand on the table. Slide the cards one at a time between the ring and match. Move the cards around on the table while you talk to the audience in order to accomplish this without drawing attention to it. Practice this move so that you can do it smoothly, without attracting any notice.

Lift your hand above the table, pressing your fingers slightly on the backs of the cards to keep them in place. The cards will appear to float. Hold your hand high above the table and pluck the cards one by one and drop them to the table.
