How to Finish a Chevron Friendship Bracelet
A chevron bracelet --- with it's distinctive V pattern --- can be divided into three sections, including the loop or start, the pattern and the finish. Creating the finish can confuse some crafters, because the bracelet often begins with six or more strands of colorful embroidery thread. Finishing the friendship bracelet creates the second part of the "clasp," which allows you to tie the bracelet onto your friend's wrist. The quantity of strands used to make the chevron bracelet does not affect the process you use to finish it.

1
Separate the six pieces of embroidery thread used to make the friendship bracelet into two groups of three. If you have more than six strands, combine them until you have two sets of three.
-
2
Braid both sections into regular, no-frills braid until about 1 to 3 inches from the end. If you have a large wrist, braid closer to the end. If you don't, you can get away with braiding less. Knot each braid at the end to secure it.

Wrap the bracelet around a wrist and slide one braid through the loop at the other end of the bracelet. This loop was created when you knotted the threads together before you began the chevron pattern. Tie this braid to the other one with a double knot. Cut off excess thread.

Tips & Warnings
Secure the bracelet to a clipboard or something stationary with a pin before attempting to finish the bracelet. This makes the braids tighter.
Beginners should start with a six-strand chevron bracelet, before attempting to make a chevron bracelet with more.
Your friend can fasten the bracelet to your wrist without help, but tying the bracelet is easier with the assistance of another person.
