How to Make Your Couch Look Smaller
Perhaps the couch did not appear that big in the showroom, but once it arrived, it suddenly seemed enormous. Place the couch against the wall. This gives more open space to the center of the room, making the room seem larger and the couch look smaller.

Limit the number of accessories you have in the room. Clutter makes rooms look smaller. A cluttered room can make the couch look even bigger than it really is.

Match the paint on the walls with the color of the couch. The couch will blend in with the color on the walls, which will make the couch less noticeable. If the couch color is too dark for use on the walls, paint the walls a light color instead. This will make the room appear larger than it actually is and help visually decrease the size of the couch. You can also purchase a couch cover in a color to match the light-colored walls.
