How to Transfer E-Mails From AOL to Gmail

Use Gmail to import your AOL email.

Transferring all of your emails from your AOL account to your Gmail account may seem like a huge task. However, you can do it in a few steps using the Gmail Import Mail and Contacts utility. Regardless of the reason you want to transfer your AOL emails to Gmail, you don't have to configure anything in your AOL account to complete the transfer. The utility is conveniently located in the Accounts and Imports tab of your Gmail Settings.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Gmail account, then click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page.

2. Select "Mail Settings" from the drop-down menu, then click "Accounts and Imports."

3. Click the "Import Mail and Contacts" button in the Import Mail and Contacts section.

4. Enter your AOL email address in the "What account do you want to import from?" box, then click "Continue."

5. Enter the password for your AOL email account, then click "Continue."

6. Click the check box next to "Import Mail," then click "Start Import." Click "OK." The amount of time it takes for all of your AOL emails to import into Gmail depends on the number of emails to transfer.
