Several issues could cause your CBR1000F not to start.

The Honda CBR1000F is a motorcycle that, due to its styling and speed, is also known as "The Hurricane" -- but any serious malfunctions can quickly take the wind out of the users' sails. Problems can include faults with the battery providing power, the activation of a kill switch or weather problems causing the bike to struggle in starting. If you are aware of these issues, you should be able to troubleshoot the Honda CBR1000F.

Instructions

    • 1

Fix the battery if no lights are coming on when you turn the ignition. Switch the bike off and clean the connections roughly using a cloth. Recharge the battery to bring it back up to full capacity. Start the bike again.

    • 2

Ensure the kill switch has not been activated. This switch is on the handlebar, near the electric start, and you would use it during emergency stops. If it is in the "On" position, the bike will not start; rectify this.

    • 3

Inspect the fuel switch, which is under the fuel tank. If the fuel switch is in the "Off" position, switch it to the "On" position to allow the bike to start.

You should also rock the bike from side to side to listen for the sloshing of fuel; if this sound is absent, you are out of fuel - and the reason for the bike failing to start is evident.

    • 4

Start the bike during periods of intense cold, which can affect the bike's mechanisms, in the following manner. Increase the choke to enrich the fuel mixture, and then push the choke lever upward as you attempt to start the bike. Replace the choke lever back to the base after the bike starts.
