1
Shampoo and condition your weave regularly. Wash your weave with a cleansing shampoo to get rid of the excess grease and dirt buildup in your weave, then wash with a moisturizing shampoo to add moisture to the weave. Finally, apply the conditioner to your weave, let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse out the conditioner.

2
Style your hair gently. When brushing or combing your hair, do so lightly so you won't aggravate or loosen the weave. Don't tie your rubber bands or other hair accessories too tight when styling a ponytail.

Don't apply any heated appliances such as curling irons or flat irons to a synthetic weave. If you have a straight weave that's made of human hair, however, feel free to use a heated appliance to style the weave.

Meet with your stylist to ensure your weave remains in good condition. If you're interested in a new style or another type of straight weave, tell your stylist what kind of style you're going for and ask for suggestions on how you can achieve the new look.
