How to Paint Santa Eyes on Christmas Ceramics
Getting crafty during the holidays is how many people make gifts and decorate their homes. If you are the type of person who enjoys creating artful decorations and gifts, you might enjoy decorating your own ceramic Santa Claus heads. One of the finest details of painting a ceramic Santa face is making his eyes; Santa's eyes need to appear jolly and kind so as not to frighten his youngest fans. Fortunately, painting Santa's eyes on your ceramic crafts is not a difficult process.

1
Decide where to place Santa's eyes on your ceramic piece. The eyes should appear three-quarters of the way up Santa's face, above his nose. How far apart you place his eyes depends on what type of ceramic decoration you are making; the eyes would be much closer together on a small face, such as a coffee cup, and further apart on a large item, such as a plate.

Use a small paintbrush dipped in black paint to paint the outline of Santa's eyes. Make an arched line, with the arch going upward and the ends going down. Again, the size depends on the ceramic piece you are making. Meet the two ends of the arch with a slight curved line below it; the curve should curve slightly upward.

On the top arch, draw long, curved eyelashes. Each lash should go from the top of the eye upward to the right. Make as many or as few as you want; your Santa's eyelash length and thickness is a personal choice.

Dip a second small paintbrush in blue paint. Inside the eye outline, draw a round, blue circle and fill it in with blue paint to create Santa's eye. Wait for the blue to dry, and add a black circle to the center of the blue eye with the paintbrush you dipped in black.
