How to Make a Monster Nose and Mouth
Monsters are very misunderstood creatures and you can help to remedy this by making your own lovely specimen. Whether you are making a nose and mouth for a monster face for your garden trees, for a puppet or for a furry creation you are sewing, these monster noses and mouths can be adjusted to suit your craft project. Determine the exact size and shape of your appendages before you begin.
Things You'll Need

- Oven

1
Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the polymer clay package. Break off a piece of polymer clay that is big enough for your monster's nose. Work the clay with your hands until it is soft and malleable. Roll the piece into a cone shape and mold a nose from the clay. Use a skewer to create the nostrils.

Work the clay for the mouth in the same way as you did in the previous step. Create your monster mouth by rolling two snakes of clay. Pinch them together at both ends. Now fashion the clay into lips. You can add a tongue and teeth made of a different color clay.

Cut small pieces of wire with the wire cutters. Use the pliers to create hooks or eyes so that you can sew the nose and mouth onto a sewn monster or hook them onto nails in your tree. Press the hooks or eyes into the back of the clay nose and mouth. If you are making a mask, skip this step, as you can glue the nose and mouth on.

4
Lay the nose and mouth on your cookie sheet. Bake it for the time denoted on the polymer clay packaging. Turn off the heat and leave the items to cool in the oven. Remove the items only when you are sure that they have cooled to the touch.

Tips & Warnings
Polymer clay comes in a wide range of bright colors. For a more colorful monster, mix two colors together.
The polymer clay will be hot when it comes from the oven - handle with care.
