How to Get Fringe Bangs With a Cowlick
Cowlicks, or pieces of hair that stick up in a different direction from the rest of your hair, can ruin many kinds of hairstyles. If you have cowlicks on your hairline or toward the front of your head, you may think that it is impossible to ever get bangs, especially lighter-fringe bangs. However, with careful cutting and styling, you can get and maintain fringe bangs with a cowlick. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Instruct your hairdresser to cut your hair in a way that works with your natural cowlicks. For example, if your hair curls away at your temples (as supermodel Claudia Schiffer's does), request that she cut the bangs into two sections so you can curl the rest of your fringe to align with the cowlicks.

2
Cut medium bangs rather than light ones. The heavier the bang --- the more hair you cut into the bang --- the easier it will be to hide your cowlick. Fringe bangs will be lighter by necessity. Cut the bangs so that they start at least 1/4 inch back from your natural hairline.

3
Blow dry your bangs in one direction underneath the blow dryer, using the brush. Hold them for several seconds. Repeat in the opposite direction. This will "stretch out" your cowlick and make it easier to control by setting it in the same direction as the rest of your bangs.

4
Smooth a pea-sized dollop of pomade over your bangs to weigh down the cowlick and hold the bangs in place.
