How to Hook Up an Upholstery Cleaner to a Kirby Vacuum
Kirby is an appliance manufacturing company that has a broad range of vacuum types. Each vacuum comes with a number of attachments. Use the upholstery nozzle to clean your upholstered furniture. The vacuums also have a number of optional accessories you can purchase and operate with the machine. One of these is the upholstery protector. Put the vacuum in neutral by pressing the power assist knob to the position labeled N. Press the control pedal all the way down to raise the nozzle. Turn the machine off and unplug it.

Lift up the headlight hood to access the large handle in the middle of the hood. Rotate the handle counterclockwise until the red arrows line up.

Rotate the lever above the handle counterclockwise to unlock the power nozzle. Remove the nozzle.

Press the air intake guard over the attaching bar. Lock it by turning it clockwise until it tightens completely. This will help seal the machine to get the right pressure for the upholstery protector.

Remove the bag assembly by grasping the handle and rotating it away from the machine and lifting it up. Press the bag release button and slide the bag off the machine. Set both aside.

Press the attachment hose over the air exhaust port where the bag assembly was located. Line up the arrows on the hose end with those on the exhaust port and twist clockwise to lock the exhaust port on the machine.

Twist the other end of the hose on the end of the portable upholstery sprayer.
Upholstery Nozzle

Press the control pedal all of the way down to raise the nozzle. Turn the machine off and unplug it.

Raise the headlight hood and turn the handle counterclockwise to line up the red arrows. Turn the accessory lever above the handle counterclockwise to unlock the nozzle.

Press the hooks on the end of the hose into the attaching bar on the machine. Turn the hose clockwise to lock it into the machine.

Push the upholstery nozzle into the end of the hose. Twist the end of the hose counterclockwise into the tool to lock it in place.
