How to Make a TM on a Mac

The U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office defines a "trademark" as a distinctive symbol or word used to identify particular products, goods or services. For trademarked items that aren't yet legally registered with the Patent and Trademarks Office, you can use the TM symbol to indicate its status. To make a TM on a Mac, use a shortcut on your keyboard.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the document in which you wish to place the TM symbol.

    • 2

Position your cursor where the TM symbol should appear.

    • 3

Press and hold the "Option" key. At the same time, press "2."
