How to Make Names Interactive on Facebook

When you post an image in your Facebook profile, you can tag friends in the picture. The tag creates an interactive link to your friend's Facebook page and notifies him that he was tagged in a picture. Tag your friends in Facebook status updates to create the same link to a Facebook profile. Your friends receive notifications from Facebook any time you tag them in status updates as well.

Instructions

  1. Status Updates

    • 1

Click in the "What's on your mind?" field of your Facebook wall. Type your status update.

    • 2

Add the name you want to link starting with an "@" symbol to generate the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can start typing the name and watch for a drop-down to appear. The drop-down menu may appear without the symbol, but starting with the symbol will automatically trigger the drop-down link.

    • 3

Click the name of the individual whose profile you want actively linked in your status post. The name will show up with an underlined link in your status after you select it.
