How to Get WebcamMax to Show on Skype

Add effects to your Skype video calls with WebcamMax.

WebcamMax is a program that allows you to add a variety of effects to your webcam stream. It captures your physical webcam and creates a virtual webcam on your computer you can adjust. You can add special effects, doodle, use picture-in-picture or even split your webcam stream to send it to two video chats simultaneously. It works with most of the major video chat services, including Skype, by tweaking the video settings.

Instructions

1. Download WebcamMax and double-click the downloaded EXE file to run the installer. Accept the terms and allow the software to install.

2. Launch WebcamMax from your "Start" menu under the "All Programs" submenu. Click the "Live Webcam" button and choose your installed webcam from the list.

3. Open Skype from your "Start" menu and "All Programs" submenu. Sign in with your Skype username and password. Click the "Tools" menu and "Options." Select "General" and the "Video Settings" tab.

4. Click the drop-down list labeled "Select webcam." Click "WebcamMax Capture Fast" to select it. Push the "Test" button to ensure it is capturing correctly.

5. Select a contact and click the green phone icon to initiate a call. Click the video options in the call and initiate video, if you do not have it set to turn on automatically as a call starts. Choose the options in the WebcamMax window to make adjustments or use effects in your video chat.
