How to Get Facebook Themes

How to Get Facebook Themes thumbnail
Facebook was launched by Mark Zuckerberg from Harvard University's campus.

You can adjust the way Facebook appears on your computer by using Facebook themes -- sometimes called skins. Since Facebook doesn't allow users to make changes to the actual website, your theme will be installed in your computer's Web browser through a plug-in. The plug-in will change the way Facebook appears to you on your computer based on the theme you choose. Some options for Facebook themes can be found at fbskins.com, facebookthemes.org or facebook-themes.info.

Instructions

    • 1

Browse to find the theme you want. You can use any theme that is compatible with a Facebook theme plug-in, so you want to find a plug-in that supports the themes you like. Search through the themes at sites like fbskins.com, facebook-themes.info or facebookthemes.org. Once you've found the themes that you want, it's time to install the plug-in in your browser.

    • 2

Download the plug-in to your computer. Sites like fbskins.com and facebookthemes.org use one plug-in that installs to your Web browser and allows you to change Facebook themes. Facebook-themes.info has a separate plug-in for each theme, so once you install the plug-in for the theme you want, you're done. Fbskins supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Facebookthemes.org supports Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. Facebook-themes.info only supports Chrome and Firefox.

Download and install the theme for your plug-in if you used a tool like fbskins.com or facebookthemes.org. You can browse the themes on their websites, and when you find a theme that you want to get, click "Select" or "Select Layout" under the preview image. The plug-in will download and install the theme for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're using individual plug-ins like those found on facebook-themes.info, disable the previous theme before you get a new one.
