How to Troubleshoot the HP7600

The HP 7600 is an all-in-one printer that allows users to print and scan documents. If you are having problems with your HP 7600, you can do several things before you send it back for servicing. The most common problems include out-of-date software, network issues and paper jams on the system. You don't have to be an HP technician to get your printer working properly again --- you can do it yourself with little hassle.

Instructions

  1. Updating The Software

    • 1

Open your Web browser and go to the "HP" website (see Resources).

    • 2

Click on the platform you are running on your system. For instance, if you run Windows, click on the "Windows" link.

    • 3

Click on the updated version of the software from the list of firmware and wait for it to download to your system.

    • 4

Click on the "Installer.exe" file to load the installer. Follow the prompts to install the software to your computer.

    • 5

Connect your 7600 to the USB port on your computer to start printing.

    • 10

Open the "HP Setup Assistant" and then click on the "Printer Setup Utility" icon. Choose your printer from the list and then click on the "Add" button to add the printer to your network.

    Paper Problems

    • 11

Check the feeder on the front of the printer for empty paper. If the feeder is empty, put more paper into the feeder. Do not put more than 25 sheets into the feeder.

    • 12

Reset the printer by pressing the "Power" button to turn the printer on.

    • 13

Disconnect the power supply from the printer and plug it back in after 15 seconds. Press the "Power" button to completely reset the printer.

    • 14

Check the feeder and the printer end for jammed paper. Use your fingers to remove the paper. Go back to the computer and try to print again.
