How to Build a Portable Fold-Up Ice Fishing Shanty
A portable ice fishing shanty can be built by first constructing a wood frame. To decrease the weight of the shanty, use a vinyl tarp for the cover. This enables you to easily transport the shanty to a lake by placing it in the bed of your truck or on a trailer.

Place the vinyl tarp over the top of the wood frame. Secure one end of the tarp to a 2-inch by 4-inch at the bottom of the frame with the staple gun. Pull the tarp taught and secure it to the other pieces of 2-inch by 4-inch.
