Instead of hauling off a refrigerator to your city's landfill, donate it to the Salvation Army. Even if the refrigerator is not in perfect condition, the Salvation Army may either fix it or use it for parts to repair another refrigerator. Ask for a tax receipt and apply it to your donated charity goods when you file your taxes.
