Instructions

    • 1

Choose a collection of tea cups and saucers to use for your lamp base. You'll need four saucers and three tea cups.

    • 2

Place a saucer on a flat surface. Apply permanent glue, such as epoxy, to the base of one of the tea cups. Set the base of the tea cup onto the saucer and hold it in place for about 1 minute to form a bond between the cup, the saucer and the glue.

    • 3

Apply glue around the rim of the tea cup. Place the base of another saucer on top of the tea cup. Hold the tea cup in place for about 1 minute to form a bond between the cup, the saucer and the glue.

    • 4

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you have the last saucer glued on top of the tower of cups and saucers. Allow the cups and saucers 24 hours to completely dry.

    • 5

Drill a hole in the lower side of the bottom tea cup with a glass cutting drill bit. Wipe off any residue caused by the drilling with a damp cloth.

    • 6

Drill a hole through the center of the tower of cups and saucers with a class cutting drill bit. Wipe any residue away with a damp cloth.

    • 7

Insert the wire from the lamp kit through the hole on the side of the bottom tea cup. Feed the wire through the hole in the center of the remaining cups and saucers.

    • 8

Attach the lamp socket to the end of the wire that extends out of the top of the tower of cups and saucers.

    • 9

Follow the instructions supplied with the lamp kit to attach the remaining hardware to the lamp.

    • 10

Top the shade holder with a lamp shade. A gingham or fringed lamp shade will complement the country chic look of this lamp, though you can use any type of lamp shade you wish.
