How to Connect Text in CS5
Text frames in Adobe's InDesign CS5 software can contain more text than they can display given their size. When this happens, the excess text can be displayed by connecting the frame to another frame, so that text that won't fit in one flows into the other.

1
Click the "Select" tool. It is the simple black mouse pointer icon.
-
2
Click a text frame containing more text than it has space to display. "Port" icons appear on the top left and bottom right edges of the frame. A blank port icon indicates the beginning or end of a set of text; an arrow indicates that the text continues into another frame; and a red plus sign indicates that there is excess text ready to flow into a new frame.

3
Click an in or out port to change your cursor's icon to one indicating that you are ready to place text in another frame.
-
4
Click another text frame to send the text there or click and drag on an empty part of your project to create a new text frame. The two frames are now linked, and the excess text from the first frame flows into the second.
