How to Measure a Dishwasher When Installing a Dishwasher for an Opening
When installing an under-counter dishwasher, you need to measure the opening before you go to the store and purchase the dishwasher you want to use. Although many dishwashers are relatively close in shape and size, if you purchase a dishwasher that's too large for your opening, you will not be able to install it. If you purchase one that's too small for the opening, you will have trouble securing the dishwasher to the underside of the countertop or the enclosure walls. Does this Spark an idea?

Measure the width of the cabinet from the left edge of the opening to the right edge of the opening. If the opening only has one vertical wall and the dishwasher will rest at the end of your row of cabinets, measure from the edge of the vertical wall to the end of the countertop. This will ensure that the dishwasher does not stick out from the countertop. Compare this measurement with the dimensions listed on the packaging for the dishwashers you are interested in.
