The Quickbooks application is compatible with both the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. In addition, you can export items from a Quickbooks file to other formats. For example, you can export a list of Quickbooks items into a comma-separated values file, also known as a CSV.

      Launch the Quickbooks application from the Dock or the Applications folder.

      Go to "Lists" in the menu bar at the top of the screen and choose "Item List."

      Click on the "Excel" button at the bottom of the list.

      Choose the "Export All Items" option in the dialog box that appears.

      Set the file type field in the popup window to the "CSV file" setting.

      Enter a name for the exported file, then navigate to the location on your hard drive where you want to save it.

      Press the "Export" button to convert the item data into the CSV format and save it to your local hard drive.
