How to Make a Lovely Hearts Friendship Bracelet

Use heart-shape beads to make a frienship bracelet.

A bracelet can be a tangible reminder of a loving friendship. Hearts, a common symbol of love, can be included in the bracelet. Hearts can indicate any type of love, from romantic to platonic. The type of heart beads can also show the theme of the bracelet. For example, brightly colored hearts might reflect a friendship better than lace-patterned hearts, which seem more romantically themed.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut two 20-inch strands of embroidery floss. Tie one end of each string around a highlighter marker.

    • 2

Thread the two free ends of the string through two heart beads, one of each color.

    • 3

Tie two double knots with the two pieces of string, right next to the beads.

    • 4

Add two more beads to the bracelet, and then two more knots. Repeat the beading and knotting until two-thirds of the bracelet is beaded and knotted. End the sequence with the double knots.

    • 5

Slip the interlocking heart bead onto the bracelet so it touches the double knots. Tie two double knots next to the bead to hold it in place.

    • 6

Finish off the rest of the bracelet with the two beads, two knots pattern. Once 4 inches of string remain, tie two large knots. Only trim off the extra string if it measures longer than 1 1/2 inches. The large knot tucks into the loop left by the highlighter.

    • 7

Pull the string slowly off the highlighter.
