How to Create a Plaque for the Consecration of a Bishop

Choose a style, material and verse that suit the occasion.

A bishop's consecration is a major event in his life. Such a significant occasion deserves to be memorialized, and presenting him with a personalized plaque is an appropriate way to do so. Honor your newly-consecrated bishop with a brass or wooden plaque that he can hang in his church or his home. Join with the other members of your church to choose the best phrases or verses to engrave on it.

Instructions

1. Visit an awards and trophies shop or look at religious gift stores online. Decide which shape and material you want for the plaque. If you intend for it to hang in the church, consider whether wood or brass will best complement the building's style.

2. Meet with the other members of your church and discuss what to have engraved on the plaque. You could choose a Bible verse that honors the bishop's personality and good works, or select a phrase from the consecration ceremony, such as "May constant faith, pure love, sincere piety abound in him."

3. Plan the full wording for the plaque. Include the bishop's name, date of consecration and verse or phrase you have chosen.

4. Order the plaque from an award or trophy store with the style and wording you selected.
