How to Make a Luna Lovegood Cork Necklace
Most Harry Potter fans have their favorite character, and many are strong devotees of Luna Lovegood. The ethereal and quirky Lovegood, also known as "Loony" Lovegood, is known for her strange habits and possessions, one of which is a necklace made of butterbeer corks. You can mimic Luna's look and make your own butterbeer cork necklace out of simple craft items and wine bottle corks.
Things You'll Need
- Wine bottle corks
- 8-by-3 1/2-millimeter screw eyes
- Jewelry cording in color of your choice
- Scissors
- Beading (optional)

1
Consider how many wine bottle corks you want to use for your necklace. In the book, Luna has several corks on her necklace, but in the movie, only one is shown. Gather together the number of wine corks you want for your necklace and wash them thoroughly with soap and water. Let them dry overnight.

2
Screw your 8-by-3 1/2-millimeter screw eyes, which are available in the jewelry-making aisle of most craft-supply stores, into the center of one of the flat ends of each of your wine corks. It doesn't matter which flat end you screw the eyes into.

3
Cut a piece of cording in the length you want your cork necklace to be.
-
4
Lay out your wine corks and beads, if you are using any, on a flat surface. Arrange the corks and beads in a line in the same way you want them arranged on your necklace. This may take a few tries until you get the arrangement you want. Experiment, if you desire, with different bead combinations between the wine corks and at each end.
-
5
Tie a double knot in one end of the cording and thread your beads and corks onto the cord once you have an arrangement you are happy with. Keep them in the same order as your final lineup and place them on the cord one at a time.
-
6
Tie the ends into a double knot and put your Luna Lovegood butterbeer necklace over your head.
