Android is a popular operating system for mobile phones.

Google's free Android operating system for mobile devices faces stiff competition from other platforms such as Apple's iOS and Microsoft's Windows Phone. To gain a competitive edge, Google tries to make it as painless as possible for software developers to create and test Android applications. One way that you can test Android applications is by running the operating system on your computer. Google has released a LiveCD version of Android that you can download, burn and install without modifying your computer.
