How to Figure Out My Facebook ID

How to Figure Out My Facebook ID thumbnail
Find your Facebook ID on the homepage profile picture.

Facebook assigns a unique identification to each user account. Finding your Facebook ID used to be straightforward because the site displayed your account's unique ID in the Web browser's address bar when you logged in to your Facebook home page. Facebook dropped this feature when it changed its page design and layout in 2010, and you will now need to use an alternative method to figure out your Facebook ID.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Web browser, and log in to Facebook. This opens your Facebook homepage.

    • 2

Roll your mouse pointer over your profile image in the top, left-hand corner of the page.

    • 3

Read the profile ID in the small pop-up bar that appears in the bottom left-hand corner of the browser window. Your unique profile is the number that follows "profile.php?id=."

    • 4

Right-click your profile image. Select "Copy Shortcut" from the drop-down menu. On some browsers, select "Save Link As" from the drop-down menu. This copies the URL and profile ID that so you can save it in a document, email or another text program.

Tips & Warnings

  • This method works only on your Facebook homepage and will not work on the larger profile image that appears on your Facebook profile page.
