How Do I Input GIFs in a Text Post on Tumblr?
Social networking site Tumblr has dedicated post types for text and images, but the two are not mutually exclusive. You can add a text caption to an image post, or you can add a GIF or other image to a text post for artistic flair or to illustrate a point. Click the "Insert/edit Image" button at the top of the editor window when creating a text post on Tumblr to insert an image into your post.
Instructions
-
-
1
Click the "Text" icon at the top of the Tumblr.com dashboard to create a new text post.
-
2
Fill in the "Title" and body fields to give your post a title and content, as you would for other text posts.
-
-
3
Click the icon with an image of a tree above the post editor. When you hover the mouse pointer over the icon, the cursor displays the pop-up message "Insert/edit Image." Clicking the icon displays a pop-up window with the same title.
-
4
Click the "URL" field in the "Insert/edit Image" window and type the full URL for the image that you want to display in the text post. A valid URL might resemble "http://www.example.com/example.gif."
-
5
Type a description of the image in the "Image Description" field.
-
6
Click the "Alignment" drop-down menu and select the way in which the image should align with the text. For example, "Center" centers the image, while "Left" places the image on the left side of the post and allows the text to wrap around the right side.
-
7
Enter the desired horizontal and vertical dimensions of the image in the fields under "Dimensions." This allows you to reduce the size of a large image to preserve the appearance of the post. Leave these fields empty to keep the image's original dimensions.
-
8
Click the "Insert" button to insert the image into your post.
-
9
Click the "Create Post" button to publish the post.
