How to Make a Facebook Link for a Band

If you want visibility for your band, social media can provide a mainstream avenue to put the name and image of the band in front of people worldwide. The Facebook fan page system is an outlet for creating business, organization and band pages to promote your interests. Understand how to use these avenues to your advantage to promote your band and fill the seats at your next show.

Instructions

1. Load your personal Facebook profile. Click "Pages" in the left column.

2. Click "Create a Page" at the top of the screen. Click the "Artist, Band or Public Figure" section. Select "Musician/Band" from the category drop-down menu. Enter your band's name in the input field. Click the box to agree to the terms of use and click "Submit."

3. Click "Edit Info" below the band's name. Fill out the record label, hometown and other details on the profile screen. Click "Save Changes." Click "View Page," then choose the "Upload Photo" link. Upload the profile image you want from your computer. Alternatively, you can import an image from your band's website.

4. Click "Invite Friends," then click profile images to select the friends to whom you want to send invitations. This sends a message to your friends to notify them of the new page. Click the "Post Updates" link to add a status update that will appear on the wall. Add information to keep your fans informed of the band's schedule.

5. Edit the profile information again once your band has 25 individuals who "like" the page. With these 25 fans, you are now eligible to assign a customized profile name to your Facebook band page.
