1
Wash your hair. Be sure to massage your scalp, particularly on the side where you want to shave your head. You want your scalp to be as clean as possible.
-
2
Untangle your hair with a fine-toothed comb while your hair is still wet. Brush your hair backwards toward the nape of your neck.

3
Part your hair at the point where you want to shave your head. Pin down or tie back the hair you would like to keep at its current length. Comb down the side of your head you would like to shave, and be sure that the part is even. Make any necessary adjustments.

4
Cut the hair you want to shave with scissors so it is approximately an inch or less long.
-
5
Put the head on your electric shaver for the length you would like to cut your hair. If you aren't sure which setting to use, start with the largest setting and work your way down to a closer shave.

Shave the sectioned off portion of your hair with the electric razor against the grain of your hair. This will lift your hair and ensure that the razor cuts your hair evenly.
