How to Stream a Mac to a PS3 & Vuze

Vuze is a bittorrent client designed to help you download many types of files from the internet. If you have downloaded video files using Vuze, you can stream the video files to your PlayStation 3 -- if they are in a compatible file format. If the files are not in a compatible format, the Vuze software will convert it for you and then make it available for streaming on the PlayStation 3, eliminating the headaches involved in converting your videos.

Open the Vuze software by double-clicking the icon on the desktop or selecting it in the "Programs" section of the Start menu.

    • 3

Click the "Turn On" button next to the "Devices" heading in the sidebar on the left of the window if it is not already turned on. After a few moments, a "PS3" listing should appear to indicate that Vuze has recognized your PS3 on the network.

Click and hold the mouse button to drag the video file in the column on the right onto the "PS3" heading in the left column and release the mouse button. If the file needs to be converted to be compatible with the PS3, the program will automatically convert it. The file will be available for streaming on the PS3. The computer must remain on in order to stream the file on the PS3.

Turn on your PlayStation 3 and navigate to the "Video" icon. Select the Vuze file you would like to play and press "X" to begin streaming it.
