How to Increase the Mic Volume on the HTC Shift
The HTC Shift is a mobile computing device that comes with Windows Vista Business edition. It features a 66-key QWERTY keypad as well as 7-inch touch screen. A headset cum microphone port is available on the left side of the device. Access the mic settings on the device to increase or decrease the volume of the microphone.

Connect a microphone to the phone device.

Tap the "Start" menu.

Type "mmsys.cpl" in the Start Search bar.

Tap "Microphone."

Tap "Properties." If a microphone is connected to your device, the text "Working" will appear under "Microphone." Tap "Microphone," then tap "Set Default" if you do not see the "Working" prompt.

Tap the "Custom" tab in the "Microphone Properties" box.

Tap the "Levels" tab and drag the volume slider upward to increase the mic volume on your device.
