The Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS is a 10-megapixel point-and-shoot camera with zoom lens.

The Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS compact digital camera can shoot up to 8.8 pictures per second. This is helpful when photographing a moving subject, especially people or pets. Being able to take a quick series of pictures helps to capture the best and most natural facial expressions. To maximize the camera's shooting speed, users should enable the high-speed continuous shooting, or "high-speed burst," mode. With this setting, the camera sets the exposure and focus with the first picture and continues to use those settings for subsequent pictures.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the camera to shooting mode by sliding the mode switch to the camera icon.

    • 2

Use the "FUNC./SET" button and the up and down navigation arrows surrounding it to select "P." Lock in the selection by pressing the "FUNC./SET" button again. This will let you choose a pre-programmed shooting mode.

    • 3

Navigate to the high-speed burst mode using the up and down arrows. Burst mode is marked with an "H" on top of a series of rectangles. Press the "FUNC./SET" button to complete the selection.

    • 4

Aim the camera at your subject. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus the picture.

    • 5

Push the shutter button down completely and hold it down to start the burst mode. Pictures will continue to be taken while the shutter button remains pressed down.

    • 6

Release the shutter button to stop taking pictures

Tips & Warnings

  • The image size is automatically set to "M" for medium during continuous high-speed shooting.

  • As pictures are added to the camera's memory in burst mode, the number of pictures taken per second will slow down from 8.8 frames.

  • In all other shooting modes, the PowerShot SD4500 IS shoots a maximum 3.7 frames per second.
