How to Look Attractive on a Date

Dress to impress, but don't go overboard.

If you have scored a date with the guy or girl of your dreams, it is only natural to be concerned about your appearance. The way you look on your date is likely the way your potential new partner will remember you, and looking attractive is one of the best ways to get the date started on the right foot. While looking good will not save you from incompatibility or a general lack of common interests, it can make the initial moments of the date a little less stressful.

1. Dress appropriately for the venue. If you are going out to a bar, for example, casual clothes are acceptable. If you are heading out for a nice dinner, scale your wardrobe up to match.

2. Focus on your strengths. Not everyone has a supermodel body or bodybuilder's physique, but you can still look attractive by wearing clothes that complement your best features. Try to draw attention to the parts of your body about which you feel most confident.

3. Perform a hygiene check-up before your date. In addition to looking nice, you will want to smell nice and appear as though you take care of yourself. Body odor or bad breath can ruin even the nicest outfit.

4. Wear something that makes you feel comfortable. The more comfortable you feel, the more confident you appear during your date. Wearing an untested but beautiful outlet can cause you to be self-conscious; this lack of confidence can dramatically impact how attractive you are to your date.

5. Dress to your date's tastes. If you are heading out with a girl that likes formal wear, find a nice suit. If you are meeting a guy that loves women in dresses, find a dress that makes you feel good. Attractiveness is subjective, and dressing to your date's taste can raise the person's opinion of you.

6. Focus on enjoying your date and engaging your partner rather than on finding the perfect pair of shoes or the nicest shirt. Strong eye contact, confident speech and ease of interaction all contribute to your attractiveness.
