How to Make a Puffy Tulle Corsage
Tulle is an ideal fabric for floral designs, with its variety of colors, light weight and inexpensive cost. In fact, tulle is so delicate and enchanting that it can even be the centerpiece of a corsage. With a few basic cuts and stitches, you can make a puffy tulle corsage using only tulle and a few complementary ribbons. The finished effect will fit your budget beautifully.
Things You'll Need

1
Measure and cut a 20-inch by 3-inch rectangle from the tulle fabric.
-
2
Cut a 24-inch length of thread and thread an embroidery needle. Insert the needle through the tulle at the center of one short edge and pull the needle through to leave a 5-inch tail of thread extending off from the tulle. Knot the thread at the tulle to secure the tail.
-
-
3
Stitch long running stitches down the center of the tulle rectangle. As you stitch, gather the tulle fabric and continue to sew running stitches until you get to the other short edge of the tulle. Remove the needle and pull the threads to gather the tulle tightly.
-
4
Tie the two threads together into a tight double knot and fluff the tulle into a round puff. Do not clip off the excess threads.
-
5
Position the tulle puff on a leaf sprig so the leaves peek out from beneath the tulle. Wrap the threads around the wire of the leaf sprig tightly and tie them together in a tight knot. Cut off the excess thread.
-
6
Cut two 8-inch lengths of ribbon. Fold each ribbon in half to make loops and position the ends of the loops along the wire of the leaf sprig beneath the tulle puff. Arrange the ribbon loops so they show slightly beneath the tulle as an added element of the corsage.
-
7
Wrap the green floral tape around the wire of the leaf sprig starting just under the leaves. As you wrap the tape, cover the ends of the ribbon loops and the threads to secure them to the wire. Continue wrapping the tape until you come to the end of the wire. Cut off the floral tape and press it onto itself to secure it.
-
8
Attach the corsage with the corsage pin.
