How to Make a Friendship Dog Collar

Always make sure your dog's collar fits securly, yet is not too tight.

Dogs are loyal and faithful companions. Show your dog and the world that it's your best friend by creating a fashionable dog friendship collar. Creating a friendship dog collar is a fast, inexpensive and fun activity that allows you to turn a basic collar into one that is uniquely made for your dog.

Things You'll Need

• Dog collar
• Felt letters
• "Best Friends Forever" shareable charm
• Hot glue gun
• Small items to decorate the collar (such as buttons, rhinestones, beads, sequins)

Instructions

1. Obtain a basic nylon collar with the color of your choice from your local pet store. Make sure the collar fits the dog correctly. A properly fitted collar should have enough room for you to be able to stick your index and middle finger in between the collar and the dog's neck.

2. Glue felt letters on the top of the collar using a hot glue gun. You can either spell out the dog's name or the acronym "BFF" -- best friends forever. Allow the glued letters to cool for five minutes.

3. Decorate the collar. Glue such decorative items as buttons, rhinestones, beads and sequins to the collar with the glue gun. Attach half of a "best friends forever" shareable charm to the dog tag ring on the collar. Attach the other half to your own necklace or bracelet.
