How to Get a Stain Off a Jersey
Sports jerseys are resilient garments, but they suffer a lot of stain damage. Grass stains, sweat residue and food stains are common problems you encounter with a sports jersey. The jersey material is absorbent, making it ideal for working out and playing sports, but this helps it retain stains. To compound the difficulties, the jersey fabric is delicate when it comes to cleaning, so you need to be careful when removing the stain. Starting the cleaning process as soon as possible and choosing the right cleaning tools makes it possible to clean the jersey effectively. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Dab the stain with a damp sponge to remove excess moisture and solid material. Do not wipe the shirt or you will spread the stain over more of the fabric.
-
2
Sprinkle baking soda on the stain to pull out some of the moisture stuck in the fabric. While the baking soda sets, test your detergent on the shirt. Apply a small drop of the detergent on the inside of the bottom hem to ensure it doesn't damage the fabric.

3
Fill your sink halfway full with cold water. Don't use hot water or it will set the stain in place.

4
Dip the stained section of shirt in the cold water and apply fabric detergent to the wet material. Gently massage the detergent into the fabric with your fingers. Lightly scrub the shirt with a soft-bristled toothbrush to help spread the detergent and pull out the stain.

Turn the jersey inside out and put it in your washing machine. Set the machine to the gentle cycle and make sure it uses cold water. Wash the shirt for a cycle and set it out on your clothesline to dry (never put a jersey in the dryer or it will ruin the fabric).
