How to Make Corsages and Boutonniers
Corsages and boutonnieres are flower accessories worn for special occasions such as proms and weddings. Boutonnieres are typically worn by men and corsages are worn by women. Boutonnieres often consist of a single flower with decorative elements such as baby's breath and leaves. Corsages typically consist of several flowers such as three rosebuds with decorative elements. Both are constructed in the same manner using floral wire and tape to secure the elements together so they can be pinned to clothing.

1
Cut flower stems to six inches long. Grasp one or more flowers in one hand between thumb and fingers. Wrap floral tape around the single or gathered stems. Place the tape at the top of the stems directly underneath the flower heads. Hold the end of the tape under your thumb. Stretch and twist the tape around the stems several times. The tape will stick to itself.

Add your chosen filler such as baby's breath or gypsophilia. Then lay corsage leaves next to the stems and a little below the flowers and filler. Wrap it all together with floral tape and trim stems as needed.
