How to Get Out an Oil-Based Makeup Stain

Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- Aerosol stain remover
- Washing machine
- 2 oz. laundry detergent
- 2 oz. oxygen bleach

Blot excess makeup off the fabric using paper towels. Fold the paper towels frequently to avoid blotting the makeup back onto the fabric.

Drench the makeup stain with aerosol stain remover designed for laundry. Let the solution penetrate the makeup stain for a minute.

Launder the makeup-stained garment without rinsing out the stain remover solution. Wash the stained garment with 2 oz. of laundry detergent according to the fabric's washing instruction label. Although hot water is best for oily makeup stains, use the warmest water temperature advised on the instruction label.

Inspect the garment for color left from the makeup. If any color lingers, launder the garment with 2 oz. of oxygen bleach instead of laundry detergent. Follow the fabric's washing instruction label, as previously.

Lay the wet garment flat or hang it outdoors to air-dry.
