Troubleshooting a Persona C15

Having a card printer in your office can save the time it takes to send an identification or bank card to a customer by allowing you to print it out instantly. The Persona C15 is part of a line of card printers that you can purchase and set up for your customers or clients. As with any piece of computer hardware, you might occasionally experience trouble with this device. If so, you have several troubleshooting methods.

Instructions

    • 1

Look at the display screen on the top of the machine to help determine what the problem is if the printer is not working correctly. You will see an error message explaining what could be causing the issue.

    • 2

Open the top cover of the printer and pull up to remove the ribbon if you see the "Card Jam" error message on the display. If you have card jammed underneath, remove it with your hands. If you are unable to reach the jammed card or pull it out, press the "On/Cancel" and "Pause/Resume" buttons to move the rollers and push the card through the system.

    • 3

Press the "Power" button to turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall if you see "Card Out/Not Fed" on the display screen. This indicates that the machine has issues running cards through the machine. Take out all blank cards from the input holder and insert a cleaning card with its adhesive backing removed. Reconnect the power cord and turn the machine on. Hold the "Pause/Resume" button to move the cleaning card through the system.

    • 4

Continue using the machine if you see a "Low Ribbon/Clean" message appear on the display screen. This indicates that the ribbon is low on ink, but not out of ink. Use the machine until blank cards come out of it. Open the cover and pull straight up on the used ribbon to remove it. Insert a new ribbon and run a cleaning card through the machine as above.
