If an app fails to install, you need to update the iOS of your iPhone. Check what version of iOS the device is running, then update the operating system if necessary. If the device is running the most recent version of iOS, then it may need to be restored to factory setting in order to properly download applications.

Instructions

      Plug your device into your computer. Open iTunes. On the Summary page and click "Check for Updates" in the middle of the screen. A popup window will appear letting you know if your device is on the most current operating system, or if it needs to be updated to a newer version.

      Select the "Update" button to update your software.

      Close the pop-up window and select "Restore" if your iOS is already up-to-date. The Restore button is located directly beneath the Update button.
