How to Fix a Water Damaged iPod Shuffle
The iPod Shuffle, the smallest member of the iPod family, measures slightly over an inch in length and height. Because of its small size, the shuffle is delicate. If you happen to drop your shuffle in a puddle, the wash or a toilet, it may still work, but the drying process will take time.

1
Turn the iPod off if it has not already died. It is easier to repair a Shuffle that has recently been damaged than one that has short circuited.
-
2
Shake the device gently to rid it of extra water, then dry it with a clean cloth. If you feel as though you can safely and successfully disassemble your shuffle, drying the parts separately will speed up the process.

Place the iPod Shuffle in a bag filled with rice that will soak up the excess moisture and leave it in a cool, dry place. Alternatively, place the shuffle face down on the dashboard of your car. Depending on the amount of water that has been absorbed by the shuffle, you may have to wait a few days or a few weeks. Wait for the shuffle to dry completely before trying to turn it on.

Tips & Warnings
After fixing a water damaged iPod, or before it becomes damaged, consider purchasing a waterproof case for your Shuffle.
The Apple warranty does not cover water damage, but you can instead bring it to the Apple store and pay to have it professionally repaired.
