Instructions

    • 1

Wash your beard every 2 to 3 days. On days when you don't use shampoo, wet your beard and apply conditioner. Leave the conditioner in for 2 to 5 minutes and rinse out.

    • 2

Towel dry your beard and apply an additional leave-in conditioner. This will keep your beard soft and more malleable. Comb through your beard. Use the conditioning product and comb through your beard every day.

    • 3

Use a thin flat iron on your beard if you have long beard hair. Take a comb through it afterward to give it a more natural look -- the flat iron will make it stiff as a board and pin straight.

    • 4

Apply a small dab of pomade and work it through your beard, but be careful not to go overboard with this product --- too much pomade will make your beard feel sticky and look greasy. Comb your beard straight.

    • 5

Thin out the sides of your beard as it grows out. According to "Men's Health" magazine, thinning out the sides of your beard every 3 to 4 weeks will keep it straight until the hair is long and heavy enough to straighten it out.
